Church Leadership

The Shaffers

Pastors Jay & Lorie Shaffer

Their Testimony

Married for over fifteen years Pastors Jay & Lorie came to know the Lord at a small church in the mountains of Virginia, where Lorie’s uncle is the Pastor to this day. Right away they became involved in the ministry. They began singing and playing southern gospel music with a group from the church. Later Lorie began helping with the toddlers and pre-school children’s Sunday school, and Jay began teaching Sunday school to the one teenager that attended the church. The Lord had started them out by giving them a compassionate heart for the youth, and music ministry. After about a year God then moved them to North Carolina where they were quickly led to attend a charismatic church. They first met Pastors Mike and Debbie there, who were at that time serving as deacons and they later became Jay's & Lorie's church elders. As they began to experience the fullness of God in their lives, they grew closer to Him. The Lord had bonded them together with the Sirianni family. The Sirianni's took Jay & Lorie under their wing from the very beginning and they've been close friends ever since. Lorie and Jay served as members of the youth ministry team for about four years. Over the past five years they have become involved in marriage counseling (through Marriage Ministries International). Jay attended and graduated from the same seminary as Pastor Mike (one year behind him). Lorie and Jay had served as church elders here at New Day until they were ordained last year. They both are still involved musically as Jay enjoys playing bass on the worship team and Lorie loves to play her violin and sing God’s praises. Their hearts are to be God’s servants and to help Him in the advancement His kingdom. They enjoy serving as associate pastors along side Pastors Mike and Debbie here at New Day the Church at High Point. God has truly blessed them, and is continuing to do so! Praise Him!
